OpenSketch connects your AI app (Claude, ChatGPT and others) to SOLIDWORKS on your own PC, through the OpenSketch add-in. This page explains what this OpenSketch server keeps about you, why, and who else sees it. In short: only what it needs to sign you in and pass work between your AI app and SOLIDWORKS. Nothing is sold, used for ads, or tracked across other sites.

What is kept

OpenSketch's pages load nothing from other sites: the fonts and pictures come from this server, so opening OpenSketch tells no one else that you visited.

Sign in with Google

If you choose Continue with Google, Google tells OpenSketch your name, your email address, whether that address is verified, your Google account ID and, for work accounts, your organisation's domain. OpenSketch asks for nothing else: no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything in your Google account.

This information is used only to sign you in and to link the sign-in to your OpenSketch account. It is stored with your account on this server. It is not shared with anyone, not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train AI models. You can remove the link at any time in your Google account settings (Security, Third-party connections).

AI

OpenSketch runs no AI of its own. The AI app you connect sees what OpenSketch's tools return to it (feature lists, measurements, preview pictures of your SOLIDWORKS model), under that app's own privacy terms. It can only do what the tools allow, only while you have it connected, and only with the SOLIDWORKS your add-in is linked to.

Who can see your work

Only you and the AI apps you connect. The person who runs this server can technically reach the data stored on it, as with any web service.

Deleting your data

Disconnect AI apps or make a new SOLIDWORKS key on the home page. To close your account and remove your sign-in details, ask the person who runs this server or who invited you.
